- Can I split a PDF without losing its digital signature?
- No, and no splitter can. A digital signature covers the exact bytes of the file it was applied to, so the moment those pages are written into a new document the signature no longer matches and viewers report it as invalid. This is how PDF signing is defined, not a limit of this tool. If you need signed copies of the parts, split first and have each piece signed again.
- Does splitting change the pages themselves?
- No. Each page is copied into the new file exactly as it appears in the original — text stays selectable, images are not re-encoded, and nothing is re-rendered. What does not carry over is anything attached to the document as a whole rather than to a page, such as a digital signature.
