Convert JPG to PNG with Transparent Background
Overview
JPG does not support transparency. If you need to use an image with a transparent background (logos, icons, product shots without a white box), you must use PNG or WebP. Converting from JPG to PNG is the first step; the background removal tool handles removing the existing background.
How to Use This Tool
Upload your JPG and click Convert to PNG. The output is a PNG file with the same pixel dimensions. The background color will not automatically become transparent; use the Background Remover tool after conversion to remove solid backgrounds.

Does converting JPG to PNG make the background transparent?
No. Converting format does not remove the background. PNG supports transparency, but the JPG background color (usually white) stays as an opaque pixel in the PNG. Use the Background Remover tool after converting to make it transparent.
Is PNG better than JPG for logos?
Yes. Logos and icons have sharp edges and flat colors that JPG compression blurs. PNG is lossless, so edges stay crisp. PNG also supports transparency, which JPG cannot.
Will converting JPG to PNG improve image quality?
No. JPG compression loss is baked into the pixels. Converting to PNG creates a lossless container around already-compressed data. Quality does not improve, but it will not get worse either.
