How to Use This Tool
Open PDF to Text and add the Hindi PDF. Read the preview: if it shows Devanagari, copy the text or download it as .txt and paste it into a translation service such as Google Translate, set to Hindi to English. If the preview shows scrambled Latin characters, or reports no selectable text, the text layer cannot be translated. Can this tool directly translate Hindi PDF to English?
No. PDF Mavericks extracts the text and does not translate it. Paste the extracted text into a translation service such as Google Translate for the Hindi-to-English step.
Does it support Devanagari script in PDFs?
It extracts whatever the PDF's text layer contains. PDFs made with Unicode Hindi fonts give readable Devanagari, while PDFs made with older non-Unicode fonts give scrambled Latin characters that a translator cannot read, so check the preview before you copy.
What about mixed Hindi-English PDFs?
